Monte Flop – Rifugio Grauzaria
Description
The starting point is the main road in Val Aupa, just below Dordolla. From here, the route climbs steadily uphill on asphalt through the small village of Bevorchians. The uphill section then changes to gravel and you pedal along a forest road that winds relatively slowly through the beech forests, steadily uphill to the Forca Zouf di Fau. From the Forca Zour di Fau, you follow a former military road from the First World War to the summit of Monte Flop. An indescribable view awaits you after the very challenging uphill, which makes up for everything.
The downhill begins from the summit itself. Directly along the ridge ride and then in the direction of Rifugio Grauzaria, the descent is challenging and varied on difficulty levels S2 to S3. At Rifugio Grauzaria you are greeted with a warm welcome. After a few minutes, a pleasant atmosphere is created here after a refreshment stop and bikers are very welcome. At the Rifugio, the route continues in the same manner before taking a small counter-climb and a crossing at an altitude of around 1000 meters above sea level, which then rides directly into Val Aupa. Once you reach the main road, it's just a few meters back to the starting point.

I've ridden this tour three times now and it's one of the absolute highlights in the area! The hut is also a great place to spend the night.
Quick question, Martin: after the first part of the descent you come to a pass (Foran da la Gjialine). Have you ever tested the trail to the west? There is a hiking trail to Dioor. The start looks very promising... LG Lukas
Tour made on 31.05.25. Pleasant ascent up to Forca Zouf. The rest has to be pushed. Overall, the ascent is long!
Once you reach the saddle, you have an incredible panorama. What a view of the Creta Grauzaria.
A technical trail, but one that is easy to ride. I really enjoyed it.
The hut is of course a dream!
