Cima Tulsti
Description
The tour begins in picturesque San Giorgio/Bilä and initially takes a relaxed ride along the main road towards Prato. But as soon as you reach Prato, the route becomes more challenging. A concrete forest road winds its way steeply uphill. In summer in particular, the sunlight here can lead to high temperatures, which makes the ascent even more difficult.
After you have left the strenuous sections behind you, you reach Stalli Perachiaze. From here, continue on gravel paths towards Stavoli Sagata / Sella Sagata until you reach the war memorial. After a short descent, you follow a cubed terrain before the route winds its way along countless hairpin bends to Colle Curnic.
From Colle Curnic, you leave the gravel forest path and have to push or carry your bike to Cima Tulsti, the highest point of the tour. Cima Tulsti served as a fortification during the First World War, of which only the remains of the walls remain today. The southern view from here, especially towards Monte Zaiavor and the Kanin, is breathtaking.
The descent offers a mixture of technical difficulties between S1 and S3, including flowing sections, hairpin bends, steep steps and very tight hairpin bends with steps that lead directly back to the starting point. The ride through idyllic stone pine forests on partly loose and firm ground is a real experience.
After such a challenging tour, the nearby Torrente Resia is the perfect place for a refreshing dip in summer.
