Monte Cesariis – Südabfahrt
Description
The tour starts at the confluence of the Torrente Aupa and the Fiume Fella. Initially on asphalt, the route climbs a few meters uphill to Borgo Travasans. You then pedal steadily uphill along an old military road to Monticello, which has since developed into a mule track. At the highest point of the tour at Balcon di Provezi, you have a magnificent view of the abandoned villages of Moggessa di Lá, Moggessa di Quá and Stavoli, as well as the rock formations with the Creta Grauzaria protruding to the north.
From here, the route then descends the ridge somewhat inconspicuously through the forest. Between difficulty levels S1 and S2, the route is relatively steep up to the saddle. From the Forca di Moggessa at 666 meters above sea level, the trail continues devilishly. The path here is partly laid in concrete. However, the rest is on classic limestone and also rides back to Borgo Costa on difficulty S1 to S2. The route then continues on asphalt past Plan di Riu and a trail section that still has it all until almost back to the starting point. All in all, a short but beautiful tour that is particularly attractive in spring and fall.
