Description

The tour starts in Val Aupa near Bevorchians. From here, the route rides steadily uphill along a forest road with some very steep climbs towards Forca Zouf di Fau. The uphill section runs entirely through dense beech forests and only offers the occasional viewpoint.

From the saddle, the trail on Sentiero CAI 435 becomes increasingly challenging. Eventually, the mountain bike can only be pushed up to the summit or yoke. In good weather, there is a very impressive panorama, with the Julian Alps in particular standing out in the field of vision.

The descent begins right at the summit. The descent along the ridge is initially a little bumpy before you reach the Sentiero CAI 435 again. The trail leads back to Forca Zouf di Fau on difficulty S2, a little overgrown in places. From this fork in the trail, follow the route towards Ricovero Zouf di Fau and then the old mule track, Sentiero 436, steadily downhill.

This section can be ridden at a similar difficulty level S2 down to the main road in Val Aupa. However, an alternative route is recommended: Cross the uphill again and then take an additional trail cutter at difficulty level S2. This runs spectacularly along the edge of the cliff in places and forms a very successful conclusion to this varied circular tour.
