Baita S.A.T – Dos de la Merenda

The Dos dela Merenda (Baita S.A.T) elevation to the west of Il Palone near Trento offers almost endless trail options along the southern ridge all the way to Aldeno - peppered with panoramic treats.

Description

The route starts in the small village of Aldeno. From here, you wind your way steadily uphill along a paved path towards Covelo. The lower part in particular is very spectacular, as the route rides through galleries and sections secured by ropes. From Covelo, you pedal along the main road to Garnia Terme and on to the highest point of the tour, Dos dela Merenda (Baita S.A.T). The uphill runs on a moderate gradient and partly in an unwooded area, offering panoramic views towards Trento and the surrounding mountains. At the end of the road at Dos dela Merenda, the route descends a few meters to the summit cross. Here you can also take a long rest at the summit.

From the summit cross, follow a military path from the First World War on difficulty S2 to the ridge, which then runs to the right. Up to Garniga Vecchia, it is a veritable firework display of trails. Hairpin bends, flow passages and technical sections have to be mastered. The route continues in this manner until Guardadocio (722 meters above sea level). Here you keep to the right and fight your way back to the Sentiero dei Molini for around 200 meters in altitude. Past the Chiesa S. Osvaldo, the transfer runs on asphalt for a few meters before finally tackling the last Elevation loss on difficulty S1. A fantastic trail winds its way back to Aldeno.
