Zugna Torta
Description
The tour starts in the beautiful old town of Rovereto. From here, the route follows the pass road towards Monte Zugna on asphalt in the direction of Zugna Torta and continues steadily uphill at a medium gradient to the headland from 1915 to 1918. The long, modern climbs from the First World War are typical of the area around Rovereto. These historic structures were built to bring supplies up the mountain. Today they serve as a perfect ascent for mountain bikers. Once you reach the top at just under 1400 meters above sea level, you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama to the north and west. In good weather, pretty much every mountain with a distinctive shape can be seen in the direction of the Adige and Trentino.
The descent starts right from the top. On difficulty levels S1 to S2, you wind your way back towards Zugna Torta. From Zugna Torta, the going gets a little rougher and on S2 to S3, the entire ridge via S. Barbara back to Lizzanella on the outskirts of Rovereto. In total, around 1200 meters of altitude are covered here and 5.5 kilometers of trail are ridden.
