Brin

Becca-Trail Aosta

The Brin descent is one of the many singletrail valley descents from the Bikepark Pila. However, it is also worthwhile as a stand-alone tour without cable car transport.

Description

From Gressan, follow the country road to Jovençan and finally reach Montbel. Here you climb up the busy road towards Cogne, but then turn left towards Ozein. The little road rides to Turlin, and a forest path takes you to Pila via Brin. It is another 200 meters up to the Chaz Liautaysaz Alp. This is where the super descent begins. The trail is not always easy to see at first, but as soon as you reach the forest it becomes a world-class descent. You reach Brin and then follow the trail number 21B to Moline above Gressan.

Tip: The tour can be done largely without an ascent by riding the gondola lift to Pila and taking the Sesselllift here. From the mountain station, you then traverse to Alp Chaz Liautaysaz

The condition remains as described in Martin Graeser's comment. The last section has also become quite overgrown in the meantime.

The tour is currently no longer rideable. At the start of the descent, there are individual trees lying down, but towards the bottom there are more and more. Above and below Brin Dessous in particular, it's a nasty tree mikado. Only the lowest part from Chavannasaz is ok again.

where was the picture taken, Brin or Mont Mary - the same photo twice in completely different places

Rode the tour today. A very pleasant ascent up to pila, but you should still have some energy left for the following 300 m climb. The descent is great, a bit steep and rutted in places. There are lots of loose stones, especially in the lower section. But most of it is easy to ride. I would say mainly S2.
