Col du Mont Joux | Ride MTB

Col du Mont Joux

St-Nicolas is inconspicuously located on the southern slope above Aosta. Some of the most flowing singletrail routes are hidden here, for example around the Col du Mont Joux.

Description

The tour starts in St-Pierre a little up the valley from Aosta. Follow the mountain road to St-Nicolas and on to Gerbore a few meters below the village of Vétan. You have climbed 1000 meters up to here, and now a wonderful high-level trail to Alp Leonaz begins. You then reach the Col du Mont Joux on alpine roads and ride a little further into the Vallon de Vertosan. At a meadow, a path branches off to the left and leads along the hillside to Vens. A little after the village, keep right and follow another water pipe a little further down. A good kilometer after passing through a small gorge, the descent to Chaillod begins on the left and continues to the hamlet of Lyveroulaz. The final section to Villeneuve leads over another singletrail, while the return to St-Pierre is on the main road.

This is probably a "classic map tour" which (i.e. not ridden by myself) The track suddenly stops completely and disappears into nowhere....
Although very scenic, the descent is unfortunately not recommended according to the GPS trace.

Unfortunately, this tour does not correspond to the description and the track! The scenery is very beautiful, but the riding is rather boring, sometimes the track goes through almost non-existent paths and then again rather on a road. If you want to have fun riding downhill, you shouldn't ride this tour.
However, the other tours were all great and corresponded to the description
