Becca d'Aver | Ride MTB

Becca d'Aver

At the entrance to Valtournenche, the Becca d'Aver towers above the Aosta Valley. The panoramic summit is the starting point of a crisp singletrail descent.

Description

Ideally, you should start the tour in Berzin below the village of Torgnon. Initially, you climb up to the village on a small road and continue along the road until you reach a picnic area with a large parking lot. Here you change to a gravel road, which is so steep for a short stretch that you have to push for a few meters. Later, follow the single trail to the summit of Becca d'Aver. The bike has to be carried here, but the panorama with the Matterhorn in the background is worth it. The descent first leads along the south side of the mountain on a tricky singletrail to the Col de Bornel and then follows a fast goods road to the Col de St-Panthaléon. The upcoming panoramic trail to the Puy de St-Evence offers pure riding pleasure. You return to Berzin on the steep north-eastern flank via Praz de Trap. This route is technical, steep and exposed in places. However, there are always fantastic views of the Matterhorn.
