Zumba Trail
Description
To reach the Zumba Trail, you first have to climb up to the village of Blavy, which lies a little to the north-east and around 900 meters above Aosta. The ascent is not very spectacular and rides along the little road up to Maillod, from there on to Marléaz and finally to Blavy. The asphalt road ends here and the ascent continues on a gravel road, with another 250 meters of ascent to master, and finally the highest point of the tour is reached at a small group of houses (Praperiaz). Up to this point, the route was not very spectacular and the culmination point inconspicuous. But now it starts. A fun singletrail leads slightly downhill, a few times you have to pedal again briefly, and just before a dilapidated house a path branches off to the left - the Zumba trail! It winds its way down the mountain like a miracle of curves, easy to ride, not difficult, but still requiring full concentration. And indeed, somehow the descent has something in common with dancing. The fun comes to an end in Roisan. A little below the end of the Zumba trail, the high trail begins, on which you roll almost flat towards Aosta, you pass a tunnel and a little later a path branches off to the right. This is the first of several trails that ride directly into the historic center of Aosta.

We rode the Original Tour today. Everything was open and easy to ride. Highly recommended. 💥💪
We rode the tour today and everything is tiptop again. No more trees and everything is good to ride.
Unfortunately, we also forgot to read the comments beforehand. Please close this trail until it is repaired. IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Unfortunately, we didn't read MikeThierer's comment and we took a look at the Zumba Trail. Dozens of places under and over fallen trees. Where you could have ridden a few meters, the path was washed out or covered by thorny bushes. Nothing should have intervened on this 07.08.2025... An information board from Aosta Tourism would be the least they could do. In my opinion, mountain biking in the Aosta Valley has passed its zenith a little. Apart from Cogne, Passo Inverneux - still fabulous
N O T F A R B A R ! ! !
Due to storm damage, about 60 places with fallen trees along the entire trail.
More or less easy to avoid.
Takes a lot of time and energy.
The rest of the trail between the trees is
still awesome 😂
But the flow has a big hole🤪.
If you don't like it quite so bumpy, you can also take the path just before Praperiaz that goes in on the left at the watering hole (you can't really miss it, there are lots of signs). I would describe it as flowy and it is also marked as a red trail on the ride map.

October 22: I don't think the ride comment is correct. at least 4 out of 6 technical. Rough, steep hairpin bends with large steps. Playful is different.
Rode the trail today: Pleasant ascent. Trail is very rough, rocky with lots of boulders and loose stones. You had to "work" the whole descent, with only a few meters of flow. I think there are more beautiful trails in Aosta, both downhill and scenically.
Very nice trail. However, the tunnel has been closed indefinitely since July 2021. Therefore, you have to ride straight ahead at the junction (approx. 1km before the tunnel) instead of turning left.
We rode this trail yesterday. Everything is well described and easy to find. Ascent as described, take enough water with you. The first well is only after 900 m.
Nice trail to warm up.
Tip: connect with the 105 Steig.
