The route starts in Stilfes south of Sterzing. From here, you cross the railroad line and the freeway, reach the village of Trens and wind your way along forest and meadow paths via Valgenauna and Niederflans to the World War II defensive structure of Vallo Alpino. The view from this small elevation is breathtaking and, on a clear day, offers views as far as the Wilder Pfaff.
