Sandjoch

Sandjoch (Gossensass)

Beautiful tour up to the Brenner border ridge road at the foot of the Sandjoch and a flowing trail through a beautiful larch forest.

Description

The tour starts on the outskirts of Gossensass with the long ascent to the Sandjoch. The ascent rides for a total of 13.6 kilometers. The tarred road soon turns to gravel and winds its way up hairpin bend after hairpin bend. Passing the old military installations from the First World War, you reach the crossroads to the Sandjoch. If you like, you can take a short detour up to the pass and look down into the Obernbergertal valley. Then get ready for the long singletrail descent. Initially a little technical, it becomes flowy from the forest. Most of the bends are not very wide, so you don't have to turn. This allows you to really pick up speed and you soon arrive in Gossensass with a big grin on your face.
