Jaufenpass - St. Leonhard
Description
The route starts in the village of St. Leonhard in Passeier. From here, you wind your way up below the Plattenspitze towards Walten. After Walten, you change course and join the pass road towards the Jaufenpass. From 1400 meters above sea level to the culmination point at 2100 meters above sea level, you stay on this road and climb up to the magnificent panorama on asphalt. It should be noted that on busy days the route should be avoided or a shuttle should be used. During the week, in the morning or evening, however, the ascent is easy. Once you reach the Jaufenpass, there is a small turn-off to the left at 2145 meters above sea level. This small elevation is perfect for enjoying the panorama and catching your breath in peace, which you will need for the downhill as well.
From the Jaufenpass, the route follows the 17er trail on difficulty level S1 to S3 in places past Leitneben to the Jägerhof, past the Hofschenke, the Schlossberg and back to St. Leonhard in Passeier. A typical trail for the Passeier Valley: a combination of rocks and roots as well as fantastic flow passages, embedded in a historic path, offers touring and enduro bikers everything they could wish for on a descent.
