Lückelescharte
Description
The starting point is Dobbiaco station. From here, follow the Val Pusteria cycle path towards Sesto before turning right into the Innerfeldtal valley just before the old Klaus sawmill. Pedal on asphalt and gravel to the Dreischusterhütte (1626 meters above sea level). From this point, you have to push and carry your bike for almost 900 meters up to the saddle. Typical Dolomite flair can be seen in the form of bizarre and rugged rock faces, combined with gravel gullies and huge rock formations. Once you reach the Lückele ridge, you are at the highest point of the tour. To the east and west, there are sensational views down into the depths and far-reaching views of the mountains.
Towards the west, you can already see the Mitteralmsee lake, which the downhill trail passes. Initially at difficulty level S3, in places S4, it descends on gravel channels. The descent then stabilizes, although there are some tricky sections in the middle section of the Möselegraben. At just under 1300 metres above sea level, you return to civilization in the Höhlenstein valley on the main road. From here, cross the road to the north and follow the cycle path back to the starting point.
