After the start in Dobbiaco, the tour begins with a ride on a gravel road through the Silvester Valley up to the Silvester Alm. The historic military road begins a little after the mountain pasture, with its countless serpentine bends as it eats its way up through the steep terrain. The higher you get, the better the view. Opposite you, almost the entire Northern Dolomites stand in a row - a truly impressive scenery. Shortly before the road leads north to Marchkinkele, you should take another look at the panorama, as it soon disappears. For mountain bikers, the downhill fun comes to the fore. Immediately before the Marchkinkele summit, the single trail (trail no. 1) branches off to the left through the Blankental valley. The trail is an excellent mountain bike route, alpine, agile, varied and flowing, although sometimes quite challenging. In this way you reach the Steinberg Alm and from there, after a short stretch of gravel road, the Silverster Alm again. A section now leads back along the ascent route, but you then ride straight ahead at the junction and finally reach the Innicher Eck - the starting point of the great final descent on super flowy trails down to the outskirts of Dobbiaco.

Tour ridden on July 31, 2023. Super nice round tour with a fantastic panorama and great single trails. From Marchkinkele to Silvester Alm beautiful and flowing alpine trails/hiking paths. From Innichereck we had to search for some of the trails as the entrances were not immediately obvious and were overgrown with grasses. In the middle tail there are still trees or a lot of wood on the trail. However, with a bit of willpower, you can get past this section (or follow the road a bit) and then be rewarded with a super flowy forest trail. We had fun =)
Long ascent along the stream. Fantastic. Then, of course, it gets quite long..... depending on your fitness and strength. At the top, the pub was open. The descent: I've been on single trails a lot - did we ride the same route? At the top, classic S2 up to about 2100m, a bit technical, but easy to ride, wonderful. Then alpine roads, but not boring. Then you cross on a forest road, another 100m up, great. Then you have to improvise. At about 28.2 km the forest trail begins, at the beginning super beautiful, then more and more wood criss-crossed, impossible - avoid this trail. This could take longer..... I dragged the bike through Unterholt and then took the hiking trail 1a to Toblach. There were also some debris fields made of wood, but you can always avoid them. Again and again beautiful S1 trails to the village. The Komoot Map was very helpful. For me a top tour with lots of trails. I'm curious to see what others think.
