The route starts in Monguelfo in Val Pusteria. From here, the cycle path under the castle ruins leads steadily uphill. You reach Taisten and finally from asphalt to gravel the forest path to the fork in the road at almost 2200 meters above sea level in the direction of Durakopf. Up to this point, the uphill is varied and, especially in autumn with the colored larches, an interplay of colors and lights that is rarely seen. At the fork in the forest path to the 54A path, the bike is pushed/carried to the Durakopf. This section is relatively easy for e-bikers, only the section before the summit requires some skill in pushing and gritting your teeth. At the highest point of the tour (2275 meters above sea level), you are presented with a good panorama in every direction. To the north to the Rieserferner Group, to the south to the Dolomites and the surrounding peaks of the Hochpustertal valley.
The descent is mainly on difficulty levels S1 to S2. A typical ridge ride, not exposed and easy to ride, runs along the ridge. A small ascent to the Lutterkopf (2145 meters above sea level) should still be possible in order to enjoy the further Elevation loss. In the same manner, it feels like an eternity through the larch forests and typical trails with South Tyrolean flair. Once you reach the fork in the trail, you then pedal north along a forest road before taking the trail to the Hochrautalm and then into the Antholz Valley towards Niederrasen. Here, however, the trail becomes a little more difficult and rides steadily downhill at S2 to S3 level. Finally, it runs along the stream, ends in Niederrasen and then on a forest road to cross to Lake Olang. At Lake Olang, the route then follows the cycle path in a relaxed manner, far away from the hustle and bustle and stress of the Pustertal Valley road, before returning to Welsberg.

I rode the tour on 19.07.24. Overall pleasant ascent on asphalt and forest road. Only the last section requires pushing the bike. Beautiful panoramic mountain. Trail is well described.
- Up to the Lutterkopf you just fly over the trail. Wonderful!
- 2nd section up to the fork (1720m) there are then some root carpets. Rumbles quite a bit, but still great to ride :D
